Location – The Butterfly and the Pig Group, 151 Bath Street, Glasgow, G2 4SQ
Position – Chargehand/Trainee manager with the butterfly and the pig group
Pay and Conditions – Hourly or Salaried position plus tips, salary approx. £16,000-18,000 per annum. Hourly rate approx. £8p/h depending on experience. Actual hours of work are dependent on functions, bookings and customer timings, expect to work weekends, evenings and some daytimes making up a minimum of approx. 45-50hrs per week.
The butterfly and the pig has firmly established itself over the past 11 years to be one of Glasgow’s most loved bar/restaurants. Through attention to detail, consistent focus on customer service and ensuring the freshly prepared food is of the highest standards we have built up a good reputation and loyal customer base. We are looking to take on a someone who respects the work already done and can ensure all these standards are maintained and then to also strive to improve them further.
Job Role – Initially the role will involve leading the bar operations of one of our venues, you will be expected to learn and then lead the bar operations, gradually over time this will also include learning the details involved in the food side of our business. The successful candidate will spend a significant period of time within various other departments learning the basic requirements and importance of everyones job role, along with the complexities of a hybrid operation. After 12 months this role will evolve into a more managerial role covering all aspects of management such as staff training, table reservations, function booking, liaising with kitchen, restaurant and bar teams and menu selection. Over a number of months they will receive training alongside this practical experience that will allow them to grow into the role of assistant manager over a period of time.
Job progression – In order to expand and open new venues we are looking for the successful candidate to integrate with the existing team before progressing into more advanced management positions as the company grows.
Key Skills – Computer literate in Excel, word and email, Organisational ability, Great customer service, and knowledge of food and wines
Essential skills – Fluent English and right to work in UK.
